CROWN AND EMPIRE - EVENTS

Last Updated 30 December, 2019

A proportion of our events are equestrian orientated and cover both Historical Re-enactment and Skill at Arms (SAA) shows. Many of the shows are the Battle Proms www.battleproms.com all of which are well worth attending for a really good evening's entertainment.

EVENTS, INSURANCE AND SAFETY

WHAT IS INSURED – Public Liability only.  You are not insured for injury or damage to yourself, other re-enactors, your horse and pets, or any other group or contractor taking part in the event.  You are advised to take out your own personal insurance to cover these risks, particularly if attending an event abroad.  You are not insured to turn up to any event as an individual or group on an ad-hoc basis.

EVENTS All events which qualify for insurance cover are listed on the website and on the Crown and Empire (Members) Facebook Pages. If the Event is not there then it is not a Crown and Empire Event (We have a limit on the number we can have each year).  The insurance will cover the geographical area of the event in terms of camping, performance and administrative areas and routes between.  It does not provide cover if for instance you visit a local hostelry or go sightseeing.  You must book into events with either the Event officer or your Unit Commander.

SAFETY RULES.  Our Safety Rules must be adhered to at the Event.  Usually there will be an Event Officer appointed (otherwise by default the Unit Commander becomes the Event Officer).  They are responsible for enforcing the Safety Rules, maintain a list of all members attending and any other administration required at the Event.  All members are expected to co-operate.

The Safety Rules are available for download on the Crown and Empire (Members) Facebook Pages under the “files” tab.  Otherwise you may request copies to be sent to you by email – please contact john.norris@crownandempire
